Roger Manning -Short Sharp Shook:
Lefty Bootlegs and Demos
Those who believe that music is as
music does (as Roger Manning seems to)
will find this anti-folk bootleg a jem.
Documenting many of the injustices of
1991 -starting with the Persian Gulf
charade, through the police action at
Tompkins Square Park and continuing
beyond -Roger Manning's latest is sub-
titled "Music, Words and Sounds', and
makes use of sound bytes, pecussion and
discussion on 17 songs. Featured here
are live performances on the radio,
on stage and in the streets which make
chilling connections between police
brutality in New York, the chemical
plant in Roger's hometown and American
wars on foreign soil.
