A late afternoon
1986-11-03
island-summer window breeze gently parts gauzy curtains. Peter is outside on the
balcony that looks across the donkey-dirt road at the small white buildings
lodged-into-hillside-town. he's slowly strumming 'god bless the child'
on a left handed nylon string guitar. she is young, beautiful, deep brown
and nearly naked - topless, bright blue eyes, chestnut hair and sitting
on the bed. i am naked, laying on my back across her lap, just as brown,
no tan lines. she pours oil and is spreading it across my skin as a neighbor
casually leans in the window and asks for a cigarette...as i look up from this
pen and paper in a new york city bar, sweet dianne ahs just finished singing
'god bless the child.'
